Can we order perishable products online?

If you thought that online shopping sites were only for browsing through the electronic aisles filled with electronic gadgets, clothing, books or gift items then you were wrong. You can even order a lovely bouquet of the best roses and get a birthday cake for your friend. What is even more amazing is that you can have these delivered to a given address and give the receiver a pleasant surprise even if you are not in town. You can form many sweet memories with the help of such online sites.
Dealsnow has an option through which the customer can order cakes and flowers as well as have it delivered on the same day. So even if you remembered your friend’s birthday a little later on during the day, you can still get away with it. There is a complaint against dealsnow stating that they do not deliver in all areas. If this is the case then they should specify the areas where they will deliver. If they do not mention this earlier on and do so only after the billing is completed then the dealsnow customer care representatives will have to deal with many angry patrons.
Another dealsnow complaint is also concerned with the delivery process but not with the area or timing but the safety of the ordered items. The customers complain that the items are often damaged during the delivery process and the company is reluctant to exchange it. Such hitches in the delivery system can cause grave problems for the company, as the goodwill of the company will fall amongst the customers.
Even in the case of flowers and cakes, the quality has to be maintained. If the flowers are not cared for properly they can get easily damaged during the delivery process. Hence special care has to be taken to preserve the fragile flowers. The cakes also have to be transported carefully as rough handling can destroy it.
I am writing on consumer rights and other relevant topics related to consumer welfare. I am handling a customer forum to get consumer complaints resolved. Many customer care centres do not respond like customer care.
